About Us

The Blue Giraffe, a wonderful shop full of fine and funky hand-crafted works, is located along 30-A in Watercolor, Florida.

The shop is the result of encouragement and hard work of special friends and family that helped make Michele’s vision and dreams become a reality. Life, if we allow it, changes and evolves as the years pass by. Michele decided, with much prayer and faith, to allow change to occur and decided to reinvent herself when she and her daughter Mackie followed her husband, Steve, to the Panhandle of Florida in order for him to further his career as a Publix Manager.

Reinvention requires exploration. Michele explored several opportunities and soon found that she had a love and appreciation for hand-crafted works by extraordinary artisans. Today with the encouragement of her husband and the help of her sister, Beth, her daughter, Mackie, her dearest of friends, Cydney, Angela, Dyane and Jan, and of course her mom, Royce, and the strong support of loyal customers, the shop is flourishing.

From inception, The Blue Giraffe has been inspired by positive energy that is brought about by working with creative and professional artisans that are committed to enhancing others’ lives. This positive energy is resonated by customers everyday with comments about how wonderful and uplifted they feel upon entering the shop.

Dedication:

Giraffes are graceful, gentle animals with extraordinary large hearts. The females stay in groups and watch out for each other and their young. Blue giraffes are just plain cute. Giraffes demonstrate traits of strength and we at The Blue Giraffe dedicate our hand-crafted products to all women that inspire joy, goodness, and greatness in those women beside them. These are grandmothers, great-grandmothers, mothers, daughters, sisters and the best of friends. May you be one and know many. Most especially we thank the Lord for the blessings he has bestowed upon us by surrounding us with strong, extraordinary, caring women. If not for the Lord and His daily guidance and love we couldn’t and wouldn’t be here to share such wonderful “stuff” with you.
